State of epidemic threat extended in Poland

A new regulation of the Polish government has been published extending the epidemic threat status. This is justified by the fact that new diseases of the SARS-CoV-2 virus have now been reported.

According to decree 2736, the 2022 epidemiological threat status has been extended until 31 March 2023.

It refers to those special regulations, which were introduced during the COVID to extend the legal stay and work of foreigners in Poland.

This means that for the time being, the deadlines are extended for:

- Legal stay of foreigners on the basis of a Polish visa or a temporary residence permit (if the period of stay expires in the period of a threatened epidemic or a state of epidemic).

- Validity of the Pole Card for a period of up to 3 months after the cancellation of the last declaration.

- Already issued work permits, seasonal work permits and applications for assignment of work to a foreigner.

- Submission of applications for legalisation of stay.

Expired documents will cease to be valid 30 days after the end of the epidemic threat state.

Please note that you cannot travel to other EU or Schengen countries on an extended visa or a Privilege Card. Extended documents are only valid in Poland.
